Stan White

Stan White is a native of Dare County. He attended Manteo High School and graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Geography. Stan grew up in a business environment, helping with the family business in Manns Harbor, which the White family still owns and operates. Stan’s father was very active in the community, serving as chairman of the Dare County Commissioners for many years, and later as a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives. After completing college, Stan taught school for three years, managed a real estate company for two years, and started Stan White Realty in 1975. He currently resides with his wife, Susie, in Nags Head and they have one son, John, who joined the family business after college. Stan and Susie attend Saint Andrews By The Sea Episcopal Church. After many years spent establishing Stan White Realty & Construction, Stan served as North Carolina State Senator and is a former chairman and member of several boards including the North Carolina Board of Transportation, the Dare County Board of Commissioners and the Dare County Social Services Board. Stan was past director of the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce and the Dare County Tourist Bureau. As an active supporter of the community, memberships include the Outer Banks Association of Realtors, Outer Banks Homebuilders Association, the Outer Banks Hospital Board, and North Banks Rotary.
